Ibiza Town's Finest Villa Amenities & Experiences
Most villa rentals and self-catering accommodations in Ibiza Town is located on the outskirts and surrounding suburbs such as Playa d’en Bossa, San Jordi, Jesus and Talamanca. However, as Ibiza Town is only small, staying in these areas means you are still within ten-minute drive of all Ibiza Town attractions.
San Jordi is a convenient base just inland from Playa d’en Bossa and five-minute drive from Ibiza Town. The San Jordi commercial centre has a selection of popular local bars and restaurants as well as a few supermarkets and other specialty stores. A villa in San Jordi means you’ll enjoy peace and privacy during the day, and be conveniently placed near Playa d’en Bossa and Ibiza Town’s daytime attractions and nightlife hotspots. We have a good choice of villas in San Jordi, walking distance to Playa d’en Bossa, ideal if you prefer to avoid car hire during your Ibiza holiday.
Talamanca, on the north side of Ibiza Town, is a 25-minute walk from the Port where you’ll find an assortment of upmarket bars all taking advantage of the waterside views across to Dalt Vila. Talamanca does not have a central commercial centre, however, you are very close to Jesus where you can find all your holiday essentials. There are some beautiful private villa rentals in this area, as well as the ever-popular Talamanca Beach with a good selection of waterfront dining options.
Jesus is the northern neighbour of Talamanca, five minutes drive from the Port of Ibiza. It’s a laid-back, pretty village with a small commercial centre and a number of enjoyable bars and dining options as well as regular buses into Ibiza Town centre. From Jesus, you are well placed to head north and discover Ibiza’s third-largest town, Santa Eulalia, and the less developed north of Ibiza.
Culinary Experiences & Local Recommendations in Ibiza Town's Villas
If you love to shop whilst on holiday, be it for souvenirs or a new holiday wardrobe then the well-curated boutiques of Ibiza Town will delight you. Many of the shops in and around Dalt Vila have bohemian fashions inspired by world travel, as well as jewellery, leather goods, antiques, gifts, homewares, art, and more.
The main shopping strip of Vara del Rey and Avenida Bartolomé Rosselló could be considered Ibiza’s ‘high street’ with large retailers such as Mango and Zara, as well as other well-known Spanish chains including Bershka, Zara Home, Stradivarius, and more. For high-end designer goods, there are a number of tightly edited boutiques on the Marina Botafoch.
For cheap and cheerful souvenir shopping, every day from late afternoon until midnight, market stalls pop up along the narrow streets of the old port quarter La Marina, selling summer essentials such as t-shirts and flip-flops as well as jewellery, clothing, leather goods, and more.
IBIZA TOWN FOR KIDS
Kids are well catered for in Ibiza. There are plenty of child-friendly beaches, where the waters are calm and the shores are gentle and sandy. Alternatively, a day splashing about on the slides and in the pools at Aguamar Waterpark in Playa d’en Bossa is a great idea for the whole family. There are also a number of beach bars that run kid-specific days, where the kids are entertained while you can enjoy a meal. Speak to the Ibiza Summer Villas team for more ideas and advice on holidaying in Ibiza Town with kids.
REVEL IN IBIZA TOWN’S ALWAYS-IMPRESSIVE NIGHTLIFE
During the summer months, the evenings in Ibiza Town start late and continue well into the small hours. In the centre of Ibiza Town, it’s not until around 10 pm that the area starts to take on a vibe of excitement at the nocturnal activities ahead.
In Ibiza Town itself, you’ll find a swankier crowd around the restaurants and bars of Marina Botafoch while the cobblestoned alleys of Dalt Vila and Sa Penya, at the far southern end of Ibiza Town Port house a more grass-roots nightlife, with clusters of intimate and often packed out bars.
Playa d’en Bossa, on the south side of Ibiza Town, is one of Ibiza’s nightlife epicenters, thanks in large part to the iconic Space nightclub and the relatively young (opened in 2011) Ushuaia Hotel and Club, Ibiza’s number one open-air club. Big-name DJs perform in these clubs each season, attracting partygoers from around the globe.
On the other side of Ibiza Town, closer to Talamanca, is one of the world’s largest club franchises, and Ibiza’s original nightclub, Pacha, which also attracts international talent.
DINE OUT IN IBIZA TOWN
In the last 10 years, Ibiza’s gastronomy scene has exploded with a huge range of choices when it comes to dining in Ibiza Town. As well as top-notch traditional Spanish tapas restaurants and grills, there is a host of international cuisine too, including Indian, Italian, and Asian restaurants, from fine-dining to fast food.
Marina Botafoch has a number of excellent fine-dining options, all with incredible views of Dalt Vila – which looks particularly impressive by night. The restaurants along the water are more expensive but make for a memorable evening. Alternatively, scout out one of the cafes or restaurants around the base of Dalt Vila for a more casual meal. There are also several fast-food chains such as Burger King, McDonald's and Pizza Hut not far from the port if you want something fast and cheap.
The Ibiza Summer Villas team is made up of foodies, each with their favourite dining spots in and around Ibiza Town. When you stay in one of our villas, we’ll provide you with a list of our recommendations for all tastes and budgets. Feel free to ask for other suggestions too – we know how valuable local knowledge can be!
In the summertime, it’s advisable to book for dinner, particularly if you are in a large group. Our friendly concierge team is happy to make dinner reservations for you.
DAY TRIPS FROM IBIZA TOWN
If you’ve rented a villa for a week's stay in Ibiza Town, find time to explore with several day trips. From the Port of Ibiza Town, there are regular ferries to Formentera, Ibiza’s quieter sister island, just a half-hour boat ride away. When in Formentera you can hire bikes, scooters or a car and discover some of Europe’s highest-rated beaches.
Another great day trip could be heading north of Ibiza, via Santa Gertrudis. This bohemian village is a melting pot of expatriates and Spanish locals and is located right in the heart of the island. A morning wandering through here before heading north to discover a less developed Ibiza allows you to see Ibiza at its more laid-back pace.
Sant Antoni de Portmany, on the west coast of Ibiza, is famous for its sunsets and another great location for a day out, with plenty to see and do. There are regular buses daily from Ibiza Town to San Antonio.
We encourage all our clients to hire a car for at least some part of their holiday, as having your own transportation really is the best way to discover the island. This being said, if you would prefer not to drive in Ibiza, we can help you arrange private transport and island tours.
